Honey Bee Music, LLC - Private and Group classes

Private Music Lessons: One on one instrucation on preferred instrument (piano, guitar, or voice). Students will learn about music theory, technique appropriate to their instrument, how to read music and play by ear. Lessons are designed to be engaging and motivating so that students want to practice during the week.

Therapeutic Music Lessons: Melissa is a board certified music therapist who is trained to work with individuals of varying needs and abilities. Therapeutic music lessons will utilize the Rancer Method, an evidenced-based piano pedagogy method to focus on ability and empower individuals using their unique gifts and talents. This method was specifically designed for individuals who have special needs and could not otherwise benefit from typical lessons.

Specialized Groups (including homeschool): Music education groups designed for specialized groups, including homeschool co-ops to assist in meeting music requirements. Students will learn music vocabulary and notation. They will learn through moving to music, singing, participating in active music making, and also passive music listening. A fun group for a mix of ages!

Music Together® - Mixed Ages: This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through kindergarten -- and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers -- grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones, older children learn by leading younger ones, and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregiver -- parents, grandparents, nanny -- can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience, and any caregiver - parents, nanny, grandparents- can bring the child(ren) to class. During the Fall, Winter and Spring trimesters, classes meet once a week for 9, 10 or 11 weeks. During the summer, classes meet once a week for 6-8 weeks.
